In case you need extra help maintaining a diet, read this article, it's guaranteed to reduce, perhaps even reverse your appetite:

quote:
TONY Blair is backing a controversial plan to provide a state funeral for one of the Labour Party's most reviled enemies of recent decades: Margaret Thatcher.

Scotland on Sunday can reveal that civil servants have been working for months on the details of Baroness Thatcher's funeral, even though there is no suggestion the 80-year-old is suffering from any life-threatening condition.

But Blair believes Thatcher's eventual passing should be marked with the first state funeral for a commoner since Winston Churchill more than 40 years ago.

Didn't help my diet at all.

I ended up in a fetal position on the couch, whimpering and consoling myself with a bag of potato chips.

Pink Floyd should get together and provide a musical sendoff at the wake.

The Post War Dream

Tell me true tell me why was Jesus crucified
Is it for this that daddy died ?
Was it for you ? Was it me ?
Did I watch too much T.V. ?
Is that a hint of accusation in your eyes ?
If it wasn't for the nips
Being so good at building ships
The yards would still be open on the clyde
And it can't be much fun for them
Beneath the rising sun
With all their kids committing suicide
What have we done Maggie what have we done
What have we done to England
Should we shout should we scream
"What happened to the post war dream ?"
Oh Maggie Maggie what have we done

That filthy little faux labor dipshit! What the blasted hell is he playing at!

Does he want to be driven out of office that badly?

Why does the Monty Python "Bring out your dead!" sketch come to mind for some reason?

On the plus side, everyone who was in the anti-Thatcher popular vote majority can now begin planning the celebrations...

I'd say it calls for a week of all-star concerts and jam sessions...

fabulous street parties and bonfires...with free ganja all around!

And parades of colliery bands from the closed pits of '85.

It must mean the end of the pustulent old bag is coming soon. Rejoice, children, rejoice, for deliverance may be nigh!

That's the spirit Ken. The sooner the better. Decades overdue as it is.

Elvis Costellohas been waiting for over fiften years...

excerpt from song: Tramp The Dirt Down

quote:

I saw a newspaper picture from the political campaign
A woman was kissing a child, who was obviously in pain
She spills with compassion, as that young childs
Face in her hands she grips
Can you imagine all that greed and avarice
Coming down on that childs lips

Well I hope I dont die too soon
I pray the lord my soul to save
Oh I'll be a good boy, I'm trying so hard to behave
Because there's one thing I know, I'd like to live
Long enough to savour
Thats when they finally put you in the ground
Ill stand on your grave and tramp the dirt down

When england was the whore of the world
Margeret was her madam
And the future looked as bright and as clear as
The black tarmacadam
Well I hope that she sleeps well at night, isn't
Haunted by every tiny detail
cos when she held that lovely face in her hands
All she thought of was betrayal

PS. When I first heard this song in the pre-google days I assumed "black tarmacadam" was some clever British historical or literary reference. I just googled now to discover that it is just the old fashioned/full term for tarmac. Oh well.
