Greets and salutations, my fellow nationals.

My name is Mikail, I'm in Toronto and I am a nationalist, socialist, republican and democratic man seeking to rid this country of the Crown for a homeland head of state... and more!

Hey, newcomer. Welcome. I would strongly encourage you to avoid putting the words "nationalist" and "socialist" too close together. You'll just wind up getting a horrible thumping from offended leftists.

By the way, we don't debate the monarchy very much here on babble. You're welcome to try, of course. The Presidential style and the truncation of democracy by our current PM is of more concern around here.

Oh yea. Leave your sidearms with the Sheriff and I'm sure you'll have a great time. Heh.

Welcome to babble. Since you're interested in the role of the Monarchy here is a past discussion that came to mind, so you can get a sense of how other babblers feel on the subject:

Why is the Queen the head of state?

Edited to add: I finally lost the "recent" tag, what an appropriate post for that

My dear, our Queen will not be amused! What would the world do without totally useless appendages from another century. Next thing you know there will be those questioning the riches of the owners and saying workers, women and immigrants must learn their place!

Welcome, partner.
