Gardai have arrested a 17-year-old from the South inner city who they say has admitted to savagely attacking gay men over the last year.Last month, Southside People revealed how officers were investigating two separate attacks on gay men at St Audeon's Church, which they believed were linked. However, now it appears that the same youth has also admitted responsibility for the vicious assault on Dubliner Brian O'Callaghan, who was left for dead and ended up in a coma as a result of the attack.
...
Last April a 41-year-old Dublin man, Brian O'Callaghan, was attacked as he left a gay bar near the city centre. He was viciously beaten, thrown over a railing into St Audeon's Park and left for dead.
He was found in the early morning and taken to hospital where he was in a coma for weeks. Mr O'Callaghan has since come out of the coma and is slowly recovering from the ordeal.
It now appears that the same youth is also responsible for the attacks on two other gay men near St Audeon's church, one of whom was assaulted in November and the other last month.
