Cuba 'bioterror threat to US'

quote:
A TOP Bush administration diplomat has renewed and refined charges that Cuba is a "terrorist and (biological weapons) threat to the United States" amid the ongoing US war on terror, and as the US presidential election looms.

Where do they dig these nut cases up?

I think they're on this bender because biotech firms have quietly been locating branches in Cuba in order to get good medical researchers. No, I can't substantiate the biotech story, but I vaguely recall reading about it in the news ages ago.

Havana is fiercely proud of its biotech industry's development of vaccines and medicines that are more affordable for developing countries.

Oh, there's the threat! Imagine the effect on the bottom line of the big US drug companies!

These accusations were made by the Bush administration during Jimmy Carter's visit.

They were bullshit then and they're bullshit now...just like the "weapons of mass destruction".
