If the weather is good.... 'The Forks' near downtown, (at the convergence of the Red, Assinaboin and Souris (??) Rivers. I think) is a cool little arty area with lots of shops, walking trails and an urban park.

Top Five Things to do in Winnipeg:

5) Ask Directions to Brandon, desperately.

4) Wear a T-Shirt that says: "Ya, but it's a dry cold"

3) Demand that people talk like those people in "Fargo".

2) Tell people it's a nice city, only the streets are too wide.

1) Argue vehemently that they pronounce "Portage" street wrong.

The Toad in the Hole!! Ask for a "yard". You may have to pretend it's your birthday. I've never worn so much beer in my life!

Walking around the Legislature is good way to kill an afternoon if you're into architecture. The museum is wonderful too!

Ummm... I'm not sure if it still happens, but the Sunday night "cruises" used to be quite an event in and of itself. Like an impromptu car show with more sweet rides than you could shake a stick-shift at. Including the requisite street races and police presence.

Ahh... sweet sweet Winnipeg. How I long for the excesses of my youth.
