It's that time of year again -- time for the annual Labour Website of the Year competition. Every year, thousands of trade unionists cast their votes online for the very best labour websites.

Last year, nearly 7,000 of you voted for some 330 different sites, and the winning site was "Workers Online" from Australia.

This is a great opportunity for you to let the world know about your own union's website (if you think it's worthy of the award). Make sure that everyone you know, in your workplace and in your union, votes.

If your own union website isn't good enough, please make sure to check out the dozens of sites nominated by LabourStart's correspondents. These include sites from the USA, Canada, Australia, South Korea, Malaysia, Nepal, the Netherlands, Norway, the United Kingdom, South Africa and -- for the first time ever-- Iraq. The new website of the Iraqi Federation of Trade Unions, which was launched in the aftermath of the collapse of the Saddam regime, is one of the officially nominated websites.

You need not vote for any of the nominated sites. By scrolling down the bottom of the ballot, you can 'write-in' any web address you'd like.

Voting begins today and continues through 31 January. On 1 February we will announce the winning site -- and the nine runners-up. Even if your favorite site doesn't win, by placing in the top ten it will get a lot of exposure.

You can see all the previous years' winners, and cast your vote, here:

Do it today!

Thanks.

I cast my ballot for the IWW-run Retailworker.com site. See also what the site's nominator said.
