The company for which I work recently computerized my job. While I still must operate the computer, I am now more than ever certain never to receive a raise in pay while I am here. How utterly depressing. And it's all I have to motivate me to become something better.

The computer proggy's very cool, tho. Jee Pee Ess, baby! I am the Eye in the Sky!

I think I am only semi-grasping what has happened, steffie, although I believe entirely what you say about what happens to income prospects in this situation.

Have you actually linked us to your employer there? Is that something that you want to do?

I don't feel comfortable linking to my employer. I think in past threads I have mentioned my boss (who ran for office), and revealed his identity. However, I don't feel I can reveal my company, given that I am very unhappy there and I'd rather not attract negative press to them. The link I provided is to the manufacturer of the device we use to communicate to dozens of units (taxis) simultaneously. It's really very fun to use. I'm merely lamenting about my situation (again) and sharing with other computer geeks this evolution in my employment. Does any other babbler, I wonder, use GPS in his/her job?

Oh, good. I was hoping that you WEREN'T linking to your employer, for your own sake, so that's good.

That's not to say that I am not mentally linking to the management, sending my frustrated screams to them telepathically.
