Stepping into the foot prints of Daniel Pipes, Islamophobist and founder of anti-Islam and anti-Muslim forums such as Middle East Forum and Campus Watch, another pro-Israeli Islamophobist, David Yerushalmi, has established an anti-Islam group known with the acronym SANE: the Society of Americans for National Existence. The sole objective of the group is banishing Islam from the US by making "adherence to Islam" punishable by 20 years in prison.

I'm not going to provide a link to the offending site. It's easy enough to find.

Ummm N. Beltov. Sure you didn't fall for a spoof.

Here's an excerpt from their website:

quote:
The Society of Americans for National Existence or SANE was formally established in January 2006 by David Yerushalmi. SANE has been in formation, however, since September 11, 2001. Even before the second plane hit the Twin Towers, Mr. Yerushalmi informed his father, with whom he was speaking at that very moment, that it was Muslims. He understood immediately that the war had escalated so that only the delusional or the suicidal would fail to grasp the import of the moment. At the time, Mr. Yerushalmi was in Israel where he had been with his family since the first Gulf War in 1991. Soon thereafter, he moved his family back to the United States and specifically to New York City, the site of the perpetration of an evil almost unimaginable to Americans.

The acronym SANE. Formed on September 11. If this isn't a spoof, it's Mr. Yerushalmi who's delusional and a nut case. Hardly a threat to civil liberties.

I don't think it's a spoof. This guy, David Yerushalmi, is reported as being the CEO and Chairman of the Israel Export Development Co., Ltd., which is deeply involved in the 2 billion dollar zone project involving Israeli and US high tech companies. He's a member of the Board of Trustees of the Jerusalem-based think tank, the Institute for Advanced Strategic and Political Studies (IASPS). This guy is connected. He's far from being some spouting lone bigot with a website and tracts about the evils of water flouridation.

Furthermore, Insight, the sister online magazine to the right wing Washington Times, is also supporting SANE. Yerushalmi has all kinds of help in his nefarious and sinister schemes. This "nut case" has a lot of organized help. He's hardly worth ignoring.
