Let's hope so.

This would ideally be followed immediately by the dismantling of his media empire.

"EU to monitor rights abuses in its own backyard"

"Berlusconi's media empire
The peculiar media situation in Italy, where Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi controls around 90% of public and private media may be the first case to be scrutinised."

Yeah, that'd be nice. Frankly, I really don't think you can call a situation where the President directly controls nearly all the media a "democracy" in any real sense. I consider his rule illegitimate.

Here is yet more evidence - legislation granting amnesty to "abusivo" builders - that means without permits, illegal but also "abusing" the landscape... I've seen some of the wanton environmental and urbanistic destruction there - and it hurts more in such a beautiful place... (sort of like the crap they've made from California)...

Berlusconi himself could stand to benefit directly, with his gaudy pseudo-Greek theatre. Oy! http://www.guardian.co.uk/elsewhere/journalist/story/0,7792,1360360,00.html

Almost beyond belief, what Berlusconi is still getting away with.

Are we still waiting to hear the verdict in the judge-bribing cases? This newest story doesn't mention that pickle.
