A U.S. report has revealed that a large quantity of WMD (Weapons of Minor Destruction) have gone missing in Iraq:

quote:
The US military cannot account for 190,000 AK-47 assault rifles and pistols given to the Iraqi security forces, an official US report says.

The Government Accountability Office (GAO) says the Pentagon cannot track about 30% of the weapons distributed in Iraq over the past three years. [...]

Correspondents say it is now feared many of the weapons are being used against US forces on the ground in Iraq.

I'd venture a guess that a lot of those AKs end up back in the US in the hands of the gangs to which a lot of military personnel belong. Or, many of those weapons were never in Iraq, and instead found their way to US-backed terrorist groups and death squads around the world.

Yep, you're probably right, Jingles. And the shadow gov said they lost track of a trillion dollars leading up to Bush II's electoral win by minority of voter support in 2000. Chaos reins merrily.

So they still have the gall of accusing Iran of fomenting violence and arming militias. Heck who needs more weapons -- and untraceable AK-47s to boot!

My guess is that the weapons are fed back to the Bulgarian weapons manufaturing plants who produced the weapons in the first place, and are then sold back to the US agents who supply the Iraqi army.

Probably the weapons themselves don't even move anywhere. Just invoices and receipts, and bank transfers, and old ladies in Bulgaria endlessly filing and then engraving new serial numbers.
