As you know, Lynn Johnston has decided to take her strip about the Patterson family back to the beginning.

What I'm wondering is...does the strip have to develop in the same way the second time around?

Could we not have(or at least imagine)an alternate,
"bizarro world" FBOFW"? A "FBOFW" that goes in directions Lynn never dreamt of the first time?

We're twisted enough to offer guidance here.

I worked North Bay in the 1980s, met Lynn Johnston, and have autographed copies of her books. I love her.

This isn't about disrespecting Lynn Johnston. It's just about having fun with the idea of taking the strip through alternate realities.

How about an affair?

Yes, I am reading way too much chick lit lately. Why do you ask?

I think there are lots of possibilities for alternate "For Better Or For Worses"

The kids who followed the strip are all grown up now so I guess affairs, substance abuse etc. are wide open now.

For starters, plotlines I could imagine in Bizarro FBOFW include

1)John Patterson gets in touch with the "Marathon Man" aspects of dentistry.

2)Elly Patterson goes "running for the shelter of her 'Mother's Little Helper'";

3)Weed, well, living up to his nickname.

Yes. Between Michael and Lawrence. Or Elizabeth and Deanna.
