Heph, that reminds of the Queen Victoria story I read about in one of the Book of Lists. The one where she was presented with a bill (1885) that would make homosexuality illegal in the British Empire. Upon reading it the Queen was so shocked and horrified to learn that women could love women as well that she struck out all references in the bill to lesbianism and signed it making male acts illegal but lesbianism still legal in Britain.
