First his mother trashes Mormons in an interview with him where she's asked her opinion of Mitt Romney.

Now he's in hot water because, in response to a supporter who asked him, "How do we beat the bitch" (referring to Hillary Clinton), McCain responded that it was "an excellent question".

CNN had a field day with it last night.

I like how Carpetbagger put it:

quote:
At a campaign event in South Carolina, a McCain backer stood up to ask the senator, “How do we beat the bitch?”

In response, McCain said, “We have our differences with our Democratic rivals, but I believe in treating people with respect. It’s why I don’t refer to women as ‘bitches,’ even when I disagree with them. I’m sure all of us believe we can debate the serious issues of the day without name-calling and degrading language.”

No, no, I’m just kidding. He actually responded, “That’s an excellent question.”

I love watching republiscum self-destruct!

Of course, FOX News completely minimized it. What idiots! On CNN, they showed the whole clip, including McCain's reaction where he said, "That's an excellent question."

FOX, on the other hand, cut it off before he said that, and said that he "laughed it off and kind of changed the subject." Um, no, he didn't. First he laughed at the supporter's comment, then he laughed at another guy in the audience who said, "She's talking about my ex-wife," and then he answered the question directly. He didn't change the subject at all!

Stupid liars at FOX News.

My guess is McCain won't even perform as well as Huckabee by the time this whole thing is said and done.

You know, I'm so annoyed. I keep seeing the FOX News clip being posted on various web sites and people are debating about whether it was okay for him just to "laugh it off and change the subject" or whether he should have scolded the supporter for saying that.

Like this one.

I really hope that everyone starts recognizing what FOX News did in this case!
