This is obviously prompted by clockwork's post on the Salvation Army.
With government social programs pared down to practically nothing these days, charitable organizations are hard pressed to fill the needs, while working people have ever less to spare.
I started wondering how you all decide which good works to support and which to avoid.

I'm a United Way kinda guy. I also give to the summer camp I went to when I was a kid. If I ever decide which church I wanna go to downtown, I'll be giving to them as well. But I have a really hard time getting up on a Sunday morning, so who knows if that'll actually happen. Hehe.

OCAP kicks ass...if I had any money I'd give it to them. (Yes, they are a charity.)

Why, The Fraser Institute, of course!

Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk. A splash of humour in the Travelodge water glass that is Babble.

After all, you're all so damn bitter lately! Check out the Great Kwanza Debate for an example.

But seriouslly, I throw a few bucks towards the cause of the day, but we have a 25 year tradition in Saskatchewan called Telemiracle, and I make that my charity of choice.

I lack the oratorial skills to adequately convey the grooviness of their good works, and the incredible impact it's had on our entire province - not just the handicapped community. So check it out for yourself at
