Laleh Seddigh, 28, is fast emerging as one of Iran's foremost race car drivers, leaving the best of the men racers behind in her saloon car.

Yet more proof that excellence has no gender.

Is "Proton" the make of car she drives? Never heard of it. I used to race and rally a Mini Cooper in the 1960's, the only female driver was in the ice races on Dow's Lake in Ottawa. Don't remember who she was, but she was pretty good. My mudder used to drag race a V8 Plymouth at the Stittsville short track, and at Deseronto. I got a bruddah that raced motorcycles, and another brother that drag raced a variety of cars. Fun, fun, fun. Too expensive nowadays.
