True CBC radio nerds will remember listening to "Double Exposure" with Bob Robertson and Linda Cullen on CBC. If you miss them -- they're back, this time on the web, with a new project called GROSS NATIONAL PRODUCT! Bob and Linda do the writing and voices on a series of animated satirical shorts produced at Animation Brewery Productions in Vancouver. I'm hoping the pilot will get plenty of circulation around the web in the next few days leading up to the election. We may even produce one or two very short bits to coincide with the election if we can get some interest from a broadcaster.
The shelf life for political satire is unfortunately kind of short depending on the topic which is why its a bit of a tough sell to a broadcaster. Essentially they need to be produced quickly and cheaply so they can remain relevant and don't break the bank. As we cobble this project together I'd really appreciate any feedback from news junkies, CBC nerds, and satire fans about our pilot "The Debate" which we launched on Oct 1. See it here:
