I was sure there would be an existing thread about this -- but I looked and couldn't find one. If there is, please accept my apologies.

I think Bruce McKinnon's cartoon today (The Chronicle Herald) is brilliant. I can't seem to link to it directly but here's the front page. Just scroll down the left hand column until you see Bruce's devilish face.

That's great!

I was going to post something along those lines as a caption contest with this picture...

Remember folks, let's keep it clean and tasteful.

This is not a caption but no doubt many have seen the story which appeared on the front page of the New York Times -- right here.

Peter said:

quote:
“Something else I’ve learned about Secretary Rice is she loves the cool Atlantic breezes here in Nova Scotia, and she left the window open last night.” The audience tittered.

I saw the CNN item last night and the anchor (a woman) sighed and said, "Those cool Atlantic breezes are making us hot!"

I find this whole thing even more sickening than the Stronach debacle.

But fine.

Anyone catch Norm MacDonald on The Daily Show last night? He said something to the effect that Condi should be careful, because he's known Peter MacKay for years, and "that guy'll fuck anything".

I was kinda half listening. I didn't care for the remark "I'm Canadian. . . but I like America better."

MacDonald also mentioned something about MacKay and alligators as well, didn't he?

I didn't like the Canada remark, either. But he was hilarious when he discussed the crocodile hunter who died.

"It was sad at the time" he said, referring to something that happened five days ago.

"But what's the life span of the average CROCODILE HUNTER??"

He then he pretended he was hearing a conversation among crocs, lamenting that the man had been killed by "some wimpy sting-ray".

It wasn't exactly respectful, but it was pretty funny.

Stephen Colbert had a few remarks as well last night. He pretended not to be interested but kept sneaking a look at a hidden photo of the two. I didn't see the whole "skit".

Kinda shocked me as well - until I heard he hung around with Peter MacKay. Then it made perfect sense, 'cause all the Harper gang secretly have woodies for Dubya's America.

At least Norm is honest about it.

Phred, this is offensive on a number of levels. Resorting to mainstream racist and sexist bullshit isn't okay here.

Hmm, "what's the problem here?"

1. Condoleeza saying typically stereotyped "oversexed" black woman talk. (You get sexist and racist points for that)

2. Peter speaking in stereotyped "homeboy" language. ("Aw shiiet...", etc) (Racist, by way of mockery of a style of speech that's associated with USian urban Blacks)

3. "dis blon' chick" (Duh)

4. "gawd damn bitch" (Ditto)

You don't really need me to break this down further, do you?

On one hand it's a huge yawn. You clearly don't have the ability to insult them (which they deserve) without resorting to cheap shots that are sexist, racist, and that can be found on any dumbass blog out there.

Peter and Condoleeza (separate and together) aren't repulsive because of what their relationship may or not involve.

(Okay, that is a bit repulsive, but we're sidetracked here.)

They're repulsive because they are both horrific Conservatives whose governments (hers more than his) have engaged and are engaged in violent murderous activities in countries that they have no business occupying. The fact that they may or may not be having an affair is the lefty equivalent of slowing down when there's a traffic accident. We know we shouldn't watch and speculate, but we can't help ourselves.

If these two happy lovebirds are busy hugging, kissing, fucking, and sending romantic poems to each other then they won't be paying attention to their jobs. Maybe that's a positive thing.

Ahh a little shock humour is funny... especially when it's aimed at 2 highly Conservative governmental figures... I have no love for the cons so... to me.. it was one way of dissing them a little... I'm sorry it offended you.

Oh and the blond... if anyone missed it... was Belinda!

Oh and FYI... that isn't "USian urban black talk" it's the slang hip-hop culture uses which may be mostly black but certainly not limited to it in anyway.

The humour here is that the language used in my dialouge would be something you would NEVER EVER hear out of either of their mouths!

I mean come on... Mmmmkay as a homeboy? LOL like... come on that's funny shit right there!

Those people are both over 40 so I don't think they speak teenage slang, like that hiphop jargon that kids think sounds sophisticated.

On the contrary. If you have to go through that much effort to explain a joke after you tell it, there's an extreme likeliehood that said joke was not funny.

As Johnny Carson would say, it was a "bomb-o."

Bomb-O indeed!
