I, a man, hereby pledge to STFU and listen for a while in the Feminist Forum, and let women discuss their own realities without my unneeded interjections.

You can do it too!

[ETA: On second thought, Michelle, maybe this should be moved to Rabble Reactions?]

OK, I'm up for the pledge too. I thik I've been living it for the last year or so anyways, but I pledge to, er, continue keeping my trap shut.

Though I fear this might become a thread, in the feminism forum, where men sit around and tell each other what good feminists we are. With that in mind, I'm now going to shut my trap (and go back to work).

Btw, I would not assume that just because someone is new to posting in the Feminist Forum means that they are new to reading the Feminist Forum. In at least one case such an assumption would be incorrect.

Sometimes it just so happens that a couple issues of especial interest (eg, genetic screening, rape allegations) come up right in a row and make it look like somebody is new to feminist issues even tho s/he has been reading for a long time, on and off, but just not previously interested enuf to join BABBLE or post in this forum immediately upon joining.

While I certainly respect that choice, and have no wish to be a troublemaker, I think it's important for evereyone to have a say. Feminsim isn't only about women it's about men to- after all it's all about changing ideas about gender and the relations between them isn't it ?
