Grand River Transit Drivers Vote in Favour of Strike Action, If Necessary

(Toronto) -- Members of CAW Local 4304 at Grand River Transit in the Regional Municipality of Waterloo have given the union a strike mandate in a vote held January 23.

CAW Local 4304 represents 350 transit drivers, and service personnel who voted by a 98% margin in favour of strike action if necessary to reach a collective agreement.

The current collective agreement expired December 31, 2004.

Bargaining continues January 24, 25, 26, and February 2, 3, 10, 11, 2005. The bargaining deadline is 12:01 a.m. February 14, 2005.
