While I posted a similar request on Par-L, I thought I would try here as well. I have noticed recently that, to my knowledge, there are no (or very few) good quality videos to be used in teaching youth about sexual health, e.g. rape, healthy/unhealthy relationships. I think of this in the context of the rape crisis centre where i volunteer. We go to high schools to do the "rape talk" with teens. With that said, I have two big requests. 1) Do any groups out there have any recent films (the latest ones I've found were pre-90's) 2) I would like to work with a (or more) filmaker(s) to make such a video. I view this as being a huge undertaking, requiring a great deal of work. Grants are a possibly, and considering the necessity for/lack of such tools, I think a grant would be achievable. My idea for the video would consist of interviewing in a documentary-style piece to have them talk about their issues, possibly interviewing youth one-on-one. That way, you could show parts of the video to a class and say "what do you think of that". It would also be good to do a short scenario-style part to it. In any case, I guess what I am requesting here (in a very rushed manner) is if there are any filmakers with experience and other groups wanting to get something together. I think if we could organize a good group, something very positive could arise. Okay, sorry for taking so long, let's discuss...
