I love online shopping! It's the perfect distraction during bouts of insomnia.I've bought books, gifts, sports gear, sex toys , all sorts of stuff. My absolute favorite was the grocery website I used when I was in residence. You just picked what you wanted and then they delivered it (free for orders over $50). The thing is, my apartment was up four flights of stairs without an elevator, so it was really worth it! As long as you're ordering from a reputable company and using secure software, there shouldn't be anything to worry about.

rob, I do a lot of shopping online as well because it's often difficult for me to get out to shop and we don't have a car. If you have a good grocery source, it's a great way to get the heavy stuff delivered (liquids, especially, cat food, etc). I used to play eBay almost as a game -- that was back when I was just learning my way around the Web (ha! as though that phase has ended!), and I was fascinated at first at how easy it was. If you don't mind using a credit card, the easiest way to pay for eBay wins is to register with PayPal, which eBay now owns -- I think the buyer pays nothing with PayPal transactions, and they're super quick once you're set up. Most eBayers will also take payment by money order, though -- I used to do that. Every once in a while I still search eBay for cheap videos. I sort of disapprove of Amazon, but the last time I ordered a book from them, it arrived at my door the next day -- ! One note of caution: I have had one of my credit-card numbers stolen twice -- twice -- in the last six months.

i haven't seen any writing on if tech bubble job cuts have spurred unionisation at amazon.com, etc. i've bought books from amazon to try it out, the technology where it suggests other things that you may be interested in is neat-o.online grocery shopping is more advanced in england than here. but generally, i like doing things in person. is it the same shopping for books online, as opposed to a musty 2nd hand bookstore? i still can't figure out how people buy clothes online ... like, t-shirts, fine, S, M, L, XL, but if it gets more complex than that ....

Buying clothes online is still chancy, even with XS, S, M, L, XL because and XL, which should be sized 18-20 everywhere, is size 12-14 in lines that don't go above size 14. The only way to be sure is to go by measurements. Also, sizes changed a few years ago quite drastically to allow for the size 1-2 in women's ranges which didn't exist not so very long ago. Vintage clothing really has to be watched for sizing. There's an additional problem that depends on where clothing is made too, far eastern sizes are generally proportioned differently, as are European sizes, from Canadian and American, which are different from each other. As far as buying online goes, I just bought a lovely sterling silver ring on eBay.ca and a couple of other things and have been very pleased. It is necessary to research the dealers as there are many scams out there, the Community Boards on the eBay sites can be quite helpful.
