I've had an idea on how one of the solutions towards peace might be met.. this board if full of very knowledgeable people from all sides so... that said.. lets begin! One of the main problems is that people loose to much sight about the current conflict. Both sides have killed innocent civilians whether purposefully or accidentally. Both sides have their own ideologies and ideas and lets face it... both sides would rather the other not be there. The main problem I see is that the media is too one-sided about this ESPECIALLY the American media. Bullshit aside... neither side aren't necessarily playing by the rules and have both committed atrocities in whatever context they felt necessary to do so.

An Islamic terrorist will suicide bomb a busy market in downtown (insert Israeli city name here) killing him/herself as well as the surrounding innocent civilians. In return, an Apache longbow will swoop in and shoot a hellfire at some building the Israeli's suspect is a terrorist organization safe house in (name the spot) taking out the house and a good chunk of civilians around it. Israel accuses Iran and Syria of passing arms to Hezbollah. Hezbollah (and Iran and Syria) point the finger at the US as the main provider of weapons to Israel. Two sides, two ideologies both being armed by their supporting countries and supported by the extremists on either end.
The Jews claim their land as their birthright promised to them by God (the one they believe in) whereas the Muslims don't see it that way at all seeing as they answer to another God .... this whole conflict has religious differences at it's very root.... like George Carlin puts it "my god's dick is bigger than your god's dick".... I never liked religion... I made up my own.. but that's another story.

The Palestinians are pissed because Israel walks in and smacks the shit outta them whenever they feel justified to do so. Such as IDFs infinite claims of suspected terrorists hiding in a certain area before bombing and/or shelling it... and then when they are wrong (and they aren't sometimes) the inevitable "we are sorry for any innocent loss of life" response is sent out. This pisses off the Arabs in the area and seeing as they don't have tanks, artillery, planes..... water... electricity... they have to settle for rudimentary human bombs which sneak and blow up in cafes and theaters killing many innocent Israeli civilians some of which might even agree with the Palestinians plight. Guess what that leads too? LAUNCH the F18's... SHALOM! The Quassam rockets are a moot point.... the don't hit a fucking thing..... but I'm impressed they can build one using the scarce resources they have... impressive indeed.

How about this as a starting solution. Everyone just fucking accept that Israel isn't going to be removed and it's naive to think otherwise.... while many don't agree with how that state came to be.. it's there.. they are dug in and sure as hell not leaving. The Israeli's take a few steps back to pre 1967 borders and just stay the fuck outta Lebanon and Palestine.
Apologize to the Palestinian families that were displaced/killed in 1948 in order to create the state of Israel and offer monetary compensation for the razed land. In return the Palestinians and Lebanese promise to stop with the rockets and suicide bombers and to stay the fuck outta Israel. They should also promise to either dismantle the militia groups or form them into a working government.. and before you all freak out... look up the history of the Likud party they have their own roots in Jewish terrorism groups. Love em or hate em Hezbollah and Hamas both have a military and political wing and have done ALOT for their people... to think you can disarm and remove them is another pipe dream.... you best pack that pipe with some good weed and smoke it. And finally... one big ass prisoner swap... 10,000 to 15,000 Lebanese and 6000 Palestinian men, women and CHILDREN go home... Israel gets their... 3 soldiers back.... as far as I know there isn't anyone else from Israel being held.

Then... a massive 30,000 strong multinational NATO force (air assets and sea assets) to keep the peace and monitor everyone. The Lebanese and Palestinians will need a SHIT load of help rebuilding their infrastructure. The peacekeeping force should be allowed to defend themselves from any aggression towards them be it suicide bombers, ambushing, rockets, f18s and Apaches.

OK.... bring fourth your thoughts and/or nasty critiques... I know some of you will be harsh.. don;'t hold back... I wanna hear it all... but no one kill each other... that would be stupid! I'm not a historian so I may have gotten some of this wrong... don't be a freak about it.

I think you would need at least 150,000 troops for what you are describing.

Plus a 12-step program and regular AA attendance.
