Never one to allow a few pesky reporters and supporters stop him from making gaffe after gaffe, Obama, who backpedaled on his stance on Israel a little just a couple weeks ago, now reaffirms his first stance as the correct one...for now.

Oh that Obama! What a great man.

quote:
"If someone were sending rockets into my house where my two daughters sleep at night, I would do anything to stop it," Obama said during an afternoon visit to Sderot in southern Israel, where residents endured years of almost daily rocket attacks before a ceasefire last month between Israel and Hamas militants in Gaza. "I would expect Israelis to do the same thing."

Obama don't need no damn history! History is for commies.

quote:
"The state of Israel faces determined enemies who seek its destruction," he said. "It also has a friend and ally in the United States that will always stand with the Israeli people."

Obama defended Israel's air strike last September against a suspected nuclear facility in neighbouring Syria but declined to say what his response would be if Israel were to use military force against Iran.

Yes my precious. Bomb Iran and Syria. That's it!

quote:
Many Israelis regard Obama with some trepidation, worrying he would not be as forceful a defender of their country as presumptive Republican presidential nominee John McCain.

"I think you're going to be looking at two very different sets of policy options between these two candidates," said author and political analyst Michael Oren. "The differences are quite glaring."

Obama, he said, would be more likely to favour a dialogue with Iran, whose leader has threatened to wipe Israel off the map.

The Democratic candidate would also be more inclined to pressure Israel to make territorial concessions to secure peace, Oren said.

In meetings with Israeli and Palestinian officials, Obama was at pains to declare his "unshakeable" commitment to the Jewish state, stressing that an eventual peace between Israelis and Palestinians must not be pursued at the expense of Israel's security.

Yes, wouldn't want a president acting statesman like and openly have talks with Iran. Why that's just for pussies! It's extremely important that people be aware that Obama's support for Israel is 100 percent, regardless if it is an apartheid state, and despite the fact Iran never said it would wipe Israel off the face of the earth (isn't that sort of similar to what Israel is doing now to the Palestinians? But I digress). Unshakable support! Totally unshakable. Obama knows where his bread is buttered and by whom.

*** what a despicable coward ****

ETA: Remember all those people who were freaking out over a Hilary win? Saying that she would say and do anything to get elected? Well where are those same people? Oh yes, right.....they're here on babble, saying it's okay for Obama to say and do anything to get elected.

Hypocrites the lot of you "Obama at all costs" supporters.

At this point Hilary might have been a hell of a lot better. But we'll never know now.

That Hillary would have been better?

Is that based on anything? Anything you could link to, like her repudiation of Zionism or something?

Clinton's vow that she'd annihilate the Iranians if their country attacked Israel might have been a teeny hint.

There isn't a Boeing contract's worth of difference between Clinton and Obama.

Their is no difference in position between either the repubs or the dems and their is no difference between the candidates when it comes to Israel.

Just like their was no difference in how Bush, Clinton, Bush Whitehouse treat Israel.
