A "coup d'éclat" to protest attacks on trade union rights and the erosion of collective agreements by opening these up to sub-contracts, and to the general "social re-engineering policy" of the Québec Liberal government. A good way to protest despite the cold!

They are. But it is the riding office of a cabinet minister - come on, my title was too long already, and just riding office does not express the impact of the action.

My own immediate reaction was a concern about the possibilty for confrontation. Since Sept 11, any govt ministry I've visited has seriously ramped up security. Barging into a ministry building and setting up camp in a minister's office would be a very big deal indeed.
There's no special security for MNA offices, I guess.
