Ha! Papa Ratzi is meeting with the newly elected far-left governor of Puglia, Nicchi Vendola (of Rifondazione comunista - and its left wing at that) who is gay and lives with his same-sex partner, and describes himself as Communist and Catholic.
Puglia is the "high heel" of the Italian boot, in the southeast of the peninsula.
Vendola is greeting Ratzi with the customary honours but made clear that they do not have the same outlook on same-sex civil unions... and probably most other things: Ratzi meets Vendola in Bari.
