Well, I thought it was time for a cheerful election thread, yes?

It hasn't been all that long that we've had the right, either.

Here's an article that fleshes out that chronology a little.

Every once in a while I get this funny feeling that there are still some people around who think we shouldn't be doing this. You ever think that?

And sometimes I'm even a bit surprised myself that I can.

But I just did. Last night. The earth moved.

Snort.

You could be right - but then don't you think that the title alone will do that? Often enough, the existence of the forum itself is enough to do that.

I plan to vote like in Gangs of New York; vote three times, then shave my beard and vote three more... Oh, wait....

Hey! Wait a minute! I asked Stephen Harper, and he was unaware that women supposedly are allowed to vote. He said that married women are way too busy doing laundry, cleaning the house, cooking dinner and watching the babies, to take care of man's work like politics. If that is truly the case that women are 'now' allowed to vote, wouldn't that be an outrage? Time for PM Stephen Harper to look into that nasty rumour.
