Here is a better version of that link without the sidescroll. Link.

You should also avoid quoting the entire article and make the effort to use selected quotations. Otherwise, there is the possibility of copyright problems.

Re Gladio

Tying It All Together by Jon Phalen

quote:
Operation "Stay Behind"; Operation "Gladio" As part of a larger US withdrawal strategy following W.W.II, the CIA created underground right-wing militias throughout Western Europe, to be activated as guerilla armies in the event of invasion by the Soviets. These were known as "Stay Behind" forces; they were a rogue's gallery of mercenary scum, dominated by devout ex-Nazis recruited by SS-cum-CIA agent Reinhard Gehlen
. As the years passed and the Soviets failed to provide the anticipated invasion, the Stay Behinds resorted to other means of justifying their CIA paychecks. All across Europe, beginning in the 1950s, they morphed into right-wing hit squads and terrorist groups. They participated in massive CIA-NATO destabilization efforts against the Soviet Bloc countries, assassinating Soviet officials, sabotaging industrial plants and public infrastructure, and generally terrorizing civilian populations. The pattern should be familiar from similar terror campaigns against Cuba and Nicaragua. In East Berlin, the activities of Stay Behind units were the primary reason for the construction of the Berlin Wall.

i got to learn how to do that !

i think sometimes it helps to have the text of the entire URL, in case someone prints out the page.

OK. alrighty-dighty nighty nighty (?)

i have been waiting for some world leaders to tell the truth about 9-11. Canadian media seems to be marching in lock-step with the US on the issue, but i would think in Europe that a statement by a retired President like this would get some coverage and some analysis.

note for those who may squeal "conspiracy theory", please have a look at Paul Thompson's timeline at Cooperative Research.org, and find the dozens (verging on 100) of warnings that the US had about an imminent repeat, in 2001, of the WTC attack in 1993. if you find any factual errors, please let us know.

i thought it might be newsworthy ! which may reveal a little cultural chauvinism on my part.

If you click on the quotation marks above an entry, like mine for instance, you will get a window showing what was typed. Then, simply have a look and ... voila! ... you know how to do such things. The only problem is that what appears inside quotation marks inside a post gets edited. But there is a way around that too. Just use cut and paste.

Criticizing the conduct of the U.S. or other NATO countries should not be contingent on accepting a particular version of events around 9-11. Astonishing claims about an inside job requires very compelling evidence. So people are right to be skeptical of 9-11 "conspiracy" claims especially when such claims are the basis for this or that course of action (or inaction).

They ignored the warnings of international intel agencies concerning al Qaeda's hijacking of planes and possibly used as weapons/missiles. It was somewhere between gross dereliction of duty to protect their own citizens and conspiring to just let it happen for the sake of creating a pretext to attack Afghanistan and making it up as they went along from there. Whetherthe planes were flown by remote control or not is pure speculation. That part of it is pure conspiracy. The hawks have been guilty of far, far worse than 9-11.

DARPA, Northrop Grumman, Raytheon etc And Remote Control Reconnaissance Aircraft "Global Hawk"

quote:
In April 2001, Global Hawk made aviation history when it completed the first non-stop flight across the Pacific Ocean by an unmanned, powered aircraft, flying from Edwards AFB, California, to the Royal Australian Air Force Base, Edinburgh, South Australia.

Global Hawk successfully participated in a series of exercises with the RAAF, the Royal Australian Navy and the US Navy. Guinness World Records has recognised the flight as the longest (13,840km) by a full-scale unmanned aircraft. . .
