quote: Clockwork - curse those overlords! They're always spoiling the fun. Perhaps we could figure out a special Brampton launch when you are free. Do you think a reading would go over well at a rave? Heh. But seriously, if you can think of a fun place to do a reading out your way, I'd be game to try figuring something out.
At a rave??? Hahaha… You must mistake Peel cops for Toronto cops. That, sadly, is not something you want to do. People have mixed them up before and have got bitten in the derrière ‘cause of that. And believe me… I’ve slaved under my current overlords for almost four years now, and I can’t even begin to tell you how they have discombobulated my hum-drum existence. Hey, I’ve never promoted a thing here. We have two public libraries and we have an Indigo and a Chapters (oddly enough, about two blocks away from each other… How is that for competition… oh wait… . Would this book be the same one you excerpted from a while back, with the little blurb about Brampton? If it is, we should talk (even if it isn’t, maybe we should talk too). If you can guarantee a couple people showing up down here in the sticks, I might be able to help you out. At the very least, I can flyer a few bars down here and can always take out an ad in the Guardian, our local paper. There might be a few places receptive to something like this. Brampton is an underdeveloped market ("under", hahahaha... non-developed is the word). If your game, I’m game…

... look on the positive side - maybe you were just influenced by the Simpson's Hallowe'en Special reruns, and you're taking on the part of Duke's hair seeking revenge against Bart. You're, like, so dead. (Duke's dying word: D-u-u-u-u-de.) [ November 05, 2001: Message edited by: judym ]

Does this mean there's more of a chance that you'll make it to Trana, Clockwork? The latest: as long as the producer gets a copy of my book (which I'd like to have, too, and so would the publisher), Book TV will be covering the launch. auntie.com will be our host. In hat! And Pages book store will be at the table for grey. [ November 13, 2001: Message edited by: judym ]

Thanks for asking.Grey is a collection of stories. This is the bumpf I wrote for the back cover: Grey is a baby Grey is a bad date. Grey battles a tornado, flies past giant monkeys and pauses to watch an old woman with her lists. These stories toy with fact and fiction, autobiography and invention, memory and make believe. Grey proves that a misunderstood colour can be far from dull. Read about a girl falling in love with a giraffe. Learn about one young boy's favourite breastfeeding scenarios. Observe several kinds of relationships. Join the author for an afterlife visit with Stanley Kubrick. --- And, LotusGrrrl, don't forget that you get to go to the rabble fundraiser tonight in Vancouver. I'll be heading out with this little book Vancouver way in January or February, so I'm told.

An exciting nicotine-addled time by all. Except andrean, of course… and all those other pretentious non-smokers. Come to the wheezy side! I feel special: how many people can claim they have danced with Judy Rebi… oh, sorry, autie.com, with that elegant hat and those exquisite shoes! Haha… well, I didn’t actually dance with her but I was in the same circle… Oh, ‘lance, you would have fit right in! Quote of the day the makes me proud: quote: Oh my gawd, you’re clockwork!?
Oh well… I have to go read a book… and get some sleep… my capitalist overlords aren’t too happy about my strike… Argh, I wish I didn't post like clockwork, judym... I'd be sleeping right now otherwise.

Oh clockwork, if I was free to tell you tales I know about our auntie, you would no longer be intimidated. I remember telling her (in her other guise) that a certain individual found her intimidating. She looked at me and said, "Intimidating?! If it was about you, I'd understand. I'm intimidated by you. But ME???" ... and archy: Guess what? A cockroach plays a starring role in my book! It's not you, so don't be jealous. But it is one of your kind. That counts, doesn't it? Hehe... who was the video camera for?And I have a quibble about one of your stories, JudyM. The one where the girl goes to Brampton. I find it highly improbable that the man in the story would be carrying a hot pizza slice at that time in the night. There are no close pizza joints near the bus terminal that stay open late. Unless the aforementioned man walked down from, like, Main and Vodden, but then I don’t think you could characterize the pizza slice as hot in that case. Warm, possibly. Then, of course, why would the man walk all that way with the pizza slice to begin with?

Sorry, I couldn't remember if that story was first person. I suppose I could have looked...And, believe me, I don't doubt the veracity of the story. I've had odd experienes here too. [ December 18, 2001: Message edited by: clockwork ]
