Mexico City's mayor has stopped working and says he will wait at home to be arrested for alleged contempt of court during a land dispute.

He could face criminal charges after he was stripped of his immunity from prosecution, possibly ruling him out of next year's presidential election.

It's apparently not likely that he'll be found guilty, but the nasty (and highly convenient for the PAN and PRI) thing is that while he's charged, he can't perform or run for public office. Is Mexico revealing itself to be a sham democracy again? Quite possibly.
