First, if Ms Ali is indeed under threat of death then protection should be afforded her as it should be for anyone in that situation.
Second, Hitchens has become such a self-righteous knob; perhaps he was ever thus. What's with the gratuitous Srebinicia jab? What possible connection is there, or could there be, between these two cases . . . other than to remind us of Hitch's moral superiority, I mean?
The protection that should be afforded Ms Ali stands regardless of her status as a right-wing panderer . . . and Hitchens', for that matter.

I can see why people view Hitchens as a right-wing panderer...but her? Why should she be so labeled??

IIRC she is a fervent supporter of the U.S.-led war against the people of Iraq and Afghanistan, besides spouting Islamophobic propaganda. Just like Mr. Hitchens. Only worse, because she had some political power.
