Sounds like good news to me.

A long-standing labour regulation that prevented workers in northern Saskatchewan from earning overtime is being abolished.

The province is ending the northern overtime exemption effective Sept. 1.

Depends, Michelle. I would hate to see workers of the auto sector levels of wage being driven by greed while unemployed people who wish to find a livelihood are kept on the sideline.

I would think that this is an example of a government caving in to unions detrimentally to the unemployed.

Huh? Having employers pay more for over working workers will lead to more over worked workers and more unemployed?

The issue is about overtime not about paying more or paying less, overworked or underworked.

I would think that a worker who earns $30.00/hour may not need to work overtime (usually at a an even higher rate) while some unemployed are sidelined.

Did you actually read what the issue is all about?
