Boy oh boy. It's that time of year again. Time to start making some dough. But I must say, I am short on ideas of where to apply. I'm not looking for work in any specialized industry (high tech for example) but just some general clerical or perhaps blue collar work. Anyone have any ideas?

Perhaps there is a gainfully employed individual on here that knows of some openings for part or full-time work in a progressive workplace? It doesn't matter if the job is temporary or permanent, I'll just quit if the job continues past August 31. Also, I'm only looking for work in the core/subcore of the GVRD - Vanc, North Shore, Burnaby, or Richmond - nothing south of the Fraser!

Go now to the temp agencies if you're looking for clerical. You might be a bit late since you'll be competing against a lot of college and university students for clerical positions over the summer, but you never know, something might come up.

Oh no, Michelle. I do have a friend that does summer temp jobs in clerical - but I hear most of the temp jobs are for fast typers. I don't have the fast typing skills - I'm more of a paper pusher as far as office work is concerned.

Ah! I think it's kind of hard to get clerical jobs these days without typing skills, because they usually involve at least some computer work.

Have you tried looking on Charity Village? Are you looking for something full-time or part-time? There may be part time stuff available.

Also, isn't this the time of year when construction companies are hiring for the summer? Or maybe that was a month or two ago, I don't know - you have a longer spring and summer season there, I know.

Thanks, spat. It's been a while since I have looked for a job. I forgot all about that site.
