Rio Considers Funding 'Gay Conversion' Therapy

quote:
(Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) Hundreds of gay demonstrators have staged a noisy rally at Rio de Janeiro's legislature to protest legislation that would use public funds to "convert" them into heterosexuals.

*snip*

quote:
Fonseca is also a minister, affiliated with the Assembléia de Deus evangelical movement which boasts tens of thousands of members and has considerable political clout.

What a surprise!! The religious fundies are behind this! I NEVER would have guessed! Someone needs to tell these ASSHOLES that while "queerness" is not reversible, IGNORANCE IS!

Fortunately, the measure is almost guaranteed to fail, considering Brazil's large LGBT community...

How stupid. Imagine how dull the society would be if that ever worked. Then they'd try to "cure" the left-handed, and...

Hey Heph, did you know that your sweetie Alexander was left-handed as well as being "bent"? Like Leonardo ...

National Lampoon had a "Gay Issue" back in late 1970s, early 1980s, that was actually pretty funny in places.

"The Struggle for Ronald Namesch" ... "Gay people imagine that they're smarter, more cultured, than regular people. Mainly because they are."

And

"Anita Bryant's 'Homo-Nomo' Program" ...

Wait, what would this therapy entail? Something like on the Simpsons where they take children to steel mills and sit them in front of cigarette ads?

OH GOD MY KEYBOARD IS MESSED UP AGAIN!
