If we pay volunteers, they're no longer volunteers, so they should be paid, so it's ok.

Harold Baines was on CBC yesterday. It isn't the paying of government employees that is the problem, it is that the government is not factoring this as an Olympic cost.

This happens all the time.

It's not "paying volunteers" it's ensuring that people are not economically impacted by volunteering.

United Ways often have corporate partnerships where the corporation pays the staff to work at the United Way during campaign. It offers a different workplace setting, unique training opportunities and great staff morale.
