something's happening here. what it is ain't exactly clear.

this day, jan 28

quote:
The Nigerian Vice President called for the democratisation of the United Nations Organisation (UNO) and the expansion of the United Nations Security Council sought North Korea's support for Nigeria's bid for a permanent seat in the Security Council.

"Nigeria expects North Korea to support her bid for a permanent seat at the United Nations Security Council," he said.

this day, jan 29

quote:
North Korea has offered to assist Nigeria in the area of missile technology and defence technology.

The offer was made during discussion between Nigerian Vice President Atiku Abubakar and his North Korean counterpart, Yang Hyong-sop, who is on a five-day visit to the country.

Nigeria is key ally of the United States in Africa, and is the fifth-largest supplier of oil to the superpower. But the country has also been reaching out to Asia in an effort to attract investment and alliances.

The Vice President said Nigeria attaches a lot of importance to the outcome of the second Nigeria/North Korea Joint Commission scheduled for March for which both countries have tasked themselves to develop economically viable projects in the area of agriculture, solid minerals, small scale cement and state industries, foundry, housing, small scale hydro-electric generating stations as well as culture and tourism.
