Another step toward full colonial status. Since when do a couple of military officers get together to sign international agreements (Treaties? alliances?)

Cant wait to see the marines moving in to help out after the next snowstorm in Toronto.

ETA didnt see any mention of this in the media eg the CBC

The lack of proper oversight leads to many dubious and unaccountable practices.

Deep Integration continues without mention in our national media, and unopposed by any political party in this country.

I don't think this is new. Canadian Forces men and women have been dispatched after major hurricanes etc for decades. I remember the hurricaine that took out Homestead florida. we dispatched both naval and army units to help.

What is new is that new command. but that also is just an upgraded form of Norad

just the way the media has skipped over this little gem seems suspicious, but, as all our criticisms are meant to be constructive, surely we have nada to worry about!
(in Argentina in 70's, the leftwing intellectuals and activists thought that too, until suddenly the boors came in the night, 4am oftentimes, and 'arrested' them while waving pieces of paper around. Not that such a thing will happen here, but the feeling is the righties know their star is fading, and...if they are going to act, it'll be w/out the news mentioning anything)

What makes you so sure that such can't happen here? No American that fought the Nazi's thought that fascism would ever come to America, yet its hard not to see all the pieces of control ready to fall into place.

The North American future is corporate fascism, and it will be welcomed by most, in the name of stability or security or some other untenable goal.

We are watching fascism creep in on padded feet in the dark of night, noticed only by those who can't sleep. Each little step seems almost reasonable and not worth the bother of protest and your neighbours will deride you for mentioning it. One day, you will be rounded up as some sort of misfit and your neighbours will wonder why, but they won't do anything; they might even applaud. They won't realize that it has all gone wrong until there is no turning back.

This is important enough to be a thread opener on its own, which I have taken the liberty to do.

I wonder how many Guantanamo-style torture camps they've actually built in the U.S.(Canada?) since plan Iraq fell into place with help from the blowback wing of the CIA?

Rule by fear or rule by law?

Concentration camps able to lockup that many people would cost billions of dollars, surely? It could explain where some of the massive, simply massive amount of U.S. treasury money and newly minted debt has disappeared to since team Bushler seized power in 2000.

Wow, great opening line for a novel.

I'm troubled by the lack of oversight and accountability but really, the only attention you'll attract with such over the top language is either Tom Clancy's publisher or health care professionals with extra long sleeve jackets.
