The loan contract displayed on your website clearly indicates that repayments were to be made monthly.

You must have misunderstood the terms when you took out the loan.

But then, I'm sure I'm not the first person to tell you this.

http://www.natwestfraud.com/1.html

about a man named Umang who lost a condo in London - also about a bank.

i think your selection of domain name is wise, in the sense that you have not used the name of the company you are investigating.

my personal experience is that, if a corporate criminal is unable to contest a website on the facts, they will use threats of litigation for trademark infringement. for example, just using someone's name in a directory in a personal website is enough to invite a threat from a corporate attorney.

anyway, good for you for standing up to RBC.

i suggest going to the courthouse in all the major cities in Canada, and entering RBC in the computer as Defendant. then getting copies of any and all litigation, and putting them on the Internet.

by documents, i mean cover pages, pages that show how the cases were resolved, pages that are particularly illustrative of RBC's improper practices, and so on.

trust me, this kind of practice can be extremely effective. it helps if you use the Yahoo stock message boards, or a similar forum, to publicize your work.

you will know it has struck a nerve when you hear from an attorney.

it seems like you have your facts in a row (organized, making accurate public statements).

if you have received this treatment, others have received this treatment. in many cases, RBC and thousands, maybe millions of corporations have left injured consumers in their wake. and some of the stories REALLY make the corporations look bad.

joining together to shine a light on it makes a lot of sense.

another sign that your website is having an impact will be if RBC starts advertising on Google, if they haven't already, and then Google de-lists your web page for certain very relevant search terms.

another option is to write about your experience on Wikipedia.

In Ontario, such a search will cost you $38-$48 dollars plus photocopying charges for copies of the documents, at $2 or more per page.

good point. in the US it's usually $1 or 50 cents a page.

so it's a good idea to bring a digital camera with a tripod & a power supply (or you'll be paying a lot of money for batteries).

another possibility is to bring a laptop and a lightweight scanner. this may involve some social engineering skills - whether you will be allowed to set up a scanner in the document viewing room is up to the discretion of the people who work there.

The loan agreement on your website is a Demand Loan - these are generally cheaper but the downside is that the bank can "demand" repayment at any time. Note the last paragraph.
quote:
The Customer agrees to pay the Demand Installment Loan on Demand
That's the banks demand, not yours. Your only defense would seem to be that you didn't read the loan document before you signed it.

This doesn't really have anything to do with the media. So I'm going to move this to, I guess, labour and consumption.
