It is an urban legend and time-honoured plot device, but I'm sure it has happened. After all, it is reducing human relations to a commodity exchange, so it seems normal that the client wants to purchase a younger, perkier version of either his wife, or himself.

There's a lot of reasons why I've never entered into this kind of business transaction. One of them is that I know these women are someone's daughters. I guess it's fine when it's a considered career choice made by independant women, but too often it's due to a lot of bad circumstances.
And they're always someone's daughters and it always makes me sad.
It's an urban legend, but given the odds, it must have happened sometime.
