Anyone else browse real-estate listings for fun? If I won the lottery (without actually playing it), I'd buy this house.

That's a beauty. We don't see many Victorians here in the Valley.Nelson has some pretty nice places. As a former Maritimer,my dream home would be on the Northumberland Strait.A restored farmhouse with some acreage would be nice...room for the family.

That is a beautiful building.

In Victoria that house would be three times the price, or more if it were an income property.

Just think Audra, with a little down and a sizable loan you could reno it into an income property and be like Robin Hood - renting to the yuppies for fifteen years - and be effectively retired the entire time.

Cash out at six hundred and fifty big ones (or more) or return it to its single residential splendour for just you and the other.

Is that a nasty ming tree in the foreground.

Probably gobbles up all the neighbourhood cats.

What is a ming tree and why does it gobble cats.

Ming trees are really gnarly sinister looking trees that resemble the one in the foreground photo of Audra's dream home, Clersal.

I used to have this sixty something year old bonzai ming tree in the office/front room of my place on salt spring island but this chubby little kid from Texas whose parents were renting felt like using it for his GI Joe figures or something.

They do look really mean, don't you think.

In my wilder days, in Vancouver I lived on E 6th for a while and the whole street near Commercial is lined on both sides with ming trees - call it a feeling I got, or perhaps I ate some suspicious looking brownies, hmm, Clersal?

I think the cats are safe, btw, but I can't be sure about those pseudo-felinoids.

Aha. Thank you. Yes those brownies can be a problem. Nice house though. Because I am a country person I wonder, does it have a large backyard?

That is a nice house. I saw my dreamhouse on the banks of Lake Okanogan. It was two stories but the top one was one big room, perfect for a craft and sewing room. The main floor had big windows, three or four bedrooms, two complete baths and a half bath, good size living and dining room and kitchen, a sunroom and indoor pool. There was also an outside deck and a couple of outbuildings, a garage and boathouse. It was beautiful. It was built in such a way that it didn't look intrusive either, it was sort of circular.

The ad says that the lot size is 50x100, Clersal. Tiny by country standards.

Lots here must be 200X200 if you want to build. Probably not the same in the village.
since the house was so close to the road I was just curious if there was a back yard as it was not mentioned. Back yards are usually mentioned.

From the photograph, I get the impression that the far back lot is a personal parking zone with probably a closer, bricked off patio, and maybe a very small raised flower bed.
