I just tuned in. Looking forward to the death match between Clinton and Obama.

Clinton is doing very well. As the frontrunner, she's getting attacked on all sides.

She's killing Edwards so far. Maybe he should get his wife to come on stage and pull her hair or something.

And speaking of which, what the hell is with this stupid wedge issue about drivers' licenses!? Does Lou Dobbs run the country, or what? It was nice to see Obama and Richardson and Kucinich taking principled stands on the issue. Not impressed with Clinton and Edwards on this one!

Clinton gets a hat trick: channels Republican talking points, gets to triangulate and lies:

quote:

SEN. CLINTON: . . . . I do not want to fix the problems of Social Security on the backs of middle class families and seniors. (Applause.) If you lift the cap completely, that is a $1 trillion tax increase. I don't think we need to do that.

. . . .

SEN. OBAMA: I will be very brief on this because, Hillary, I've heard you say this is a trillion dollar tax cut [sic] on the middle class by adjusting the cap. Understand that only 6 percent of Americans make more than $97,000 -- (cheers, applause) -- so 6 percent is not the middle class -- it's the upper class. And you know, this is the kind of thing that I would expect from Mitt Romney or Rudy Giuliani -- (laughter, boos, cheers, applause) --

But understand, this is the top 6 percent, and that is not the middle class. (Cheers, applause.)

Meanwhile, CNN apparently went out of its way to live up to the charge that it is the Clinton New Network:

quote:

CNN's post debate coverage violated journalistic ethics. They had on their panel four people, two of whom had worked for the Clinton administration, and only one of those two announced their connection to the campaign. We all know James Carville was pro-Clinton, but so too was David Gergen a Clinton Administration official. It was inappropriate to note disclose his connection to the frontrunner before allowing him to (predictably) offer pro-Clinton Analysis.
