You should realize, Sven, that the CIA has worked towards propping up centuries-old power structures throughout Latin America. The largest and most arable tracts of land in several Central and South American countries were passed to a handful few wealthy families during Spanish colonial rule, and this is what your American CIA has been propping up in those countries with a glue of repression and the export of state sanctioned terrorism, Sven. A few of your country's former CIA officials have been telling the truth about their roles in Latin America. Has the CIA and Pentagon suddenly become disinterested in those countries off Uncle Sam's back doorsteps ?.

Once again, Sven, who has been the guiding hand in Latin America in recent history ?. Were the Soviets within their rights to intervene in the Asian stani nations and Eastern Europe ?. I agree - it's time that Latin America broke free of its long-time shadow in Washington.

Then the best answer is to make sure the citizens of your own nation experience that freedom before you point fingers at anyone else's. Of course, when raised in a nation where small-minded self-interest is rampant, the whole idea of common interest would seem alien.
