Gawd, McVety has outdone himself. Instead of applauding the advancement of First Nations culture and art, within Canada, he spins it as a "homosexual" and "Nazi" travesty. Moreover, I wonder if Harper will refuse to be sworn in in front of it? quote: The official seat of power in Canada is manifest in the office of the Governor General. The GG is Canada’s Head of State, Commander-in-Chief of the Canadian Armed Forces and the Queen’s representative. Governor General Michaelle Jean recently installed new imagery in Rideau Hall on September 18th, just in time to swear in the next Prime Minister. Following the October 14th vote, Canada’s representative of the Queen will conduct the ceremony inaugurating the nation’s next Government Representatives, Prime Minister and Cabinet Ministers. This official ceremony will be conducted with the backdrop of a large homosexual mural called "Androgyny", which means being both male and female....This concept is not new. Adolph Hitler’s Nazi Party appointed Dr. Carl Jung as their head of the International General Medical Society for Psychotherapy. He taught the concept that in the uncouncious of man is anima (femininity) and in the uncouncious of woman is animus (masculinity).

Well, symbolism counts for a lot, and I don't think we should just sluff this off as looney nonesense.Where do we draw the line? Sure, today is androgynous representations of Jungian...whatever..., but what about tomorrow? What if a bunch of Sado-masochists got their hands on the riegns of power (well, I suppose just the sado wing) and swore in the government in front of some hellish display of someone nailed to a cross after being whipped and wearing a fetishy crown of pointy things? I mean, there's some real wierdos out there.

quote: In Androgyny, Morrisseau represents the Ojibway shaman’s world view, showing a thriving and bountiful world in which all the diverse elements are in perfect balance. With its impressive height of 3.66 metres and width of 6.1 metres, its brilliant colours, and the artist’s knowledge and understanding of the Ojibway cosmology, this artwork is a true masterpiece. Morrisseau donated this painting to the Canadian people on April 15, 1983. He was awarded the Order of Canada in 1979. The loan of Androgyny to Rideau Hall is made possible thanks to a partnership with the Department of Indian and Northern Affairs Canada, and the Indian and Inuit Art Centre. The piece is on display until 2011 and will be seen by everyone visiting Rideau Hall.
Quote and picture linked(click on picture)Would it not be appropriate to remove the distinction of that Christian link, from the topic of the painting itself. That to lump a view and incorporate the miscommunication of the principals of psychological and it's interpretation under such a message. It would have been to ignore some of the "profound thoughts" that are dealt with, in the "psychology of" by trying to learn to understand our very own natures. Click on Picture It does a disservice in many areas, and the responses there in, by reacting to it, a further denigration of something that should not be tainted like this. If some did know of the story of the likes of a leader like Hitler and the related book shown by Shinoda, you would understand the complexity of, and the psychology that could lead nations. It requires an in depth look at the foundations of families and this effect on the children that are raised. The "resulting character" that arises from a family, to become a leader like that Hitler. We are all the wiser then to watch who our leaders are, and what they represent behind the party platforms. How they can lead one down a garden path and we would not have known. Once you learn of Shinoda's method of explanation then you will understand the use of Wagner's Nibelungenring. Best,

But this thread is about McVety's portrayal of it, and not Androgyny itself. As well as to discuss his insertion of himself and his fundamentalist Christian ideology into Canadian politics. He has a huge influence on Harper's government and needs to be exposed everytime he comes out with something public like this. Indeed if Harper refuses to have the swearing in in front of it, we will know why.
Hi Remind, I believe I did answered the thread post quite completely in regards to McVety's portrayal. You did not include Jung who is also besmirched under this topic. But yes, I see what you are saying if Harper does not do the swearing in, one would have been successful here. I did not know of the extend of the influence here which then goes to the idea of leaders of party platform, and what we are being lead by. Best,

I would say, perhaps. National Board: Preston Manning Calgary, AB Chair Manning Centre for Building Democracy The Walrus http://www.ecpcentre.org/p-archive.php?id=57 Charles Allard Edmonton, AB President Rosedale Meadow Developments Inc The Allard name is totally connected with Focus on the Family, which is also deeply connected to McVety and his Canada Family Action Coalition. Anyhow just google the Board members names individually and the staff too, with an accompanying ender Canada Family Action Coalition, focus on the Family, or even Charles McVety. Or even Tristian Emmanuel.
