The DOJ’s reported investigation is an expansion of New York State Attorney General Eliot Spitzer’s current inquiry. At question is whether the four major labels have conspired to set music download prices at 99 cents. If evidence exists the four worked together to fix prices, the State of New York could bring antitrust lawsuits against the companies.

Can't wait to find out what they pay the artist for each sale; will we find collusion on that front as well?

Meanwhile, in Canada, our watchdogs are demanding that any expences incurred at meetings that take place between business' regarding price fixing are properly deducted as "business entertainment exemptions."

In Canada, the wheels of injustice grind slow, but they grind fine.

Yes Canadian regulators, such as they are tend to do nothing about price-fixing.

The music industry in the U.S. got busted before for price-fixing on CD's...and now they're being nailed for price-fixing on music download services.
