Should labour unions give strike pay to members, who are engaged in political strikes (illegal)?

WHEREAS illegal strike action is sometimes necessary to prevent governments from passing legislation which would override collective agreements or privatize our jobs and these strikes are political and only indirectly related to collective bargaining;
However worthwhile the aims, if you pay members for illegal job actions, what's to stop management from playing tit for tat and violating collective agreements?
