If you're like me and you're a masochist who wants to work out the unitary conversions yourself, going from miles per gallon to liters per 100 klicks goes as follows:miles / gal * (1 gal / 3.785 L) * (1.609 km / mile) = km / L Take the reciprocal and multiply by 1 / 100, which yields L / km * (1 km / .01 km) The last factor is dimensionless, but forces it from L/km to L/100 km.
