And where do you get the word "extremists" from? Is it just another term of abuse?

Why don't you read the article? It doesn't support your lying suggestion that the Palestinians were trying to attack, impede, blow up, or in any way interfere with the fuel supply. Rather, it says the object was to "abduct soldiers to swap them for Palestinian prisoners". Sounds like an eminently sensible thing to do in the circumstances.

If anybody was trying to destroy the fuel supply, it would have to be the Israelis who fired tank shells at a building near the fuel depot.
