The elusive apartment, that rare bird, lives in old neighbourhoods and monstrous complexes. Shy by nature, this nearly invisible creature hides from those who stalk her.
Help me find her - she is a one bedroom built for two in east/downtown Toronto. She is a main or second floor, and smells OK. She's cheap, like all rare birds, and costs between $700 and $900 per month.

Check out Thorncliffe Park Drive. It's in East York (you did mention east, or is that too far east?) and it's a 10 minute bus ride from the Greek section of the Danforth (Pape Station). The building I lived was kind of expensive (we started out paying $840 for a gigantic 1 bedroom, and 2 1/2 years later it had gone up to $930). But I heard from others that my building was particularly expensive and that there are a few other buildings on the street that don't cost as much.

Speaking of which, I just found the perfect Apt for me! It's in the middle of the woods, and yet only 11km from work (that cuts my commute in *half*). Plus, it's got tons of room for all my stuff, and it's only $400/mo, heat and lights included, even!
Dawna, I wish you all the good fortune from the Apartment Fairy I can gather up - she seems to be smiling on me, so perhaps she'll help you too

HEHE. Thanks for the dust...now where the hell are the happy thoughts? I always fall for the Peter Pan types...
I actually had a bit of luck - this girl emailed me and said she would sublet for a month if I didn't find a place. YAY! That eases my desperation a little.
