So I just got a letter addressed to my attention, using my name with Ms. in front of it, which is great.

Then it said as the opening salutation:
"Dear Sirs:"

As Audra would say: what the?

Michelle, that reminds me of one of Tom Lehrer's classic routines, which goes something like this:

He opens a letter. It reads, "I love you. Marry me, or I will kill myself."

And he gets a l'il concerned -- until he looks at the envelope again and sees that it reads "To Occupant."

Well, I was thinking "careless mistake" too - that maybe it was a form letter or something, and they forgot to change the salutation.

But still - who on EARTH uses "Sirs" as a generic salutation anymore anyhow? Okay, I know, lots of (very sexist) people. But still. Like, geez people, maybe dive into the latter half of the 20th century at least.

I think I could stomach "Occupant" with a lot more grace.
