I bought the series on DVD, sight unseen. It was kind of disappointing. The episodes were to short. Any documentary that seeks to be truly comprehensive, should be at least 10 hours long. They dealt with a lot of interesting topics, the economic and social divide between Mitzrai and Achkanazi Jews, religious divisions within the state, etc, but it didn't delve too deeply into any one subject. Most of the people Ralph interviewed seemed to be either religious fundamentalists, or secular conservatives. He also seemed to take for granted that the Holocaust was responsible for the founding of the state, and the occupation really wasn't mentioned in detail. It really wasn't very good.

Actually, that's not true. I did watch some clips on Youtube. I figured it would be quite cool. More fool I.

Sounds exactly like the CBC's normal coverage. Superficial and biased.

Well, they did talk in the last episode about a group of Israelis and Palestinians, who had come together to share their stories and affect some sort of reconciliation, but they didn't talk about Israeli groups who were actually taking concrete actions to improve Palestinian lives, like Gush Shalom or the Israeli committee against House demolitions.
