"The premier doesn’t get it. It’s not about him," Liberal Leader Stephen McNeil said. "Growing the economy in the province of Nova Scotia is setting the atmosphere for the business community to feel confident that their government is moving in the right direction."It’s reaching quite far to suggest to the people of Nova Scotia that building a media centre somehow is going to create a job anywhere in the province of Nova Scotia, other than an attempt for the premier to hold on to the one he has."
New Democrat MLA Graham Steele said providing good government is the best way Mr. MacDonald could promote the province, but it seems he’s more concerned about presentation than substance.
"I don’t think it matters what’s in the background if he delivers good government. But if he’s not making good decisions, then having good lighting and a good sound system isn’t going to change that," Mr. Steele said.
True enough. No amount of lipstick could turn the various Ernie Fage scandals into investment opportunities (influence peddling followed by drinking and driving to travel ~12 city blocks). It also won't change the look of contempt evident on Harper's face when he looks down his nose at we Eastern Bastards, those times he visits for press conferences.
